NEWS RELEASE
ORILLIA GRANDMOTHERS TO GRANDMOTHERS
*************************
If you are looking for some new plants for your garden, be sure to join the Orillia Grandmothers to Grandmothers for their Annual Plant Sale at 145 Cedar St. from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, June 3.

The Grandmothers have been busy digging and re-potting plants to raise money for the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign. In addition to plants, there will be several tables of fabric and jewelry for sale.

The Stephen Lewis Foundation is a progressive, feminist organization rooted in the principles of social justice and international solidarity. Its main purpose is to support community-based organizations working on the frontlines of the AIDS pandemic in sub-Saharan Africa.

Since 2003, the Foundation has partnered with 335 community-based organizations in the 15 countries that have been hardest hit by the AIDS pandemic in Africa.

Many of these grassroots organizations were formed by small groups of African grandmothers and, with the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s support, they have grown and continue providing income and support to grandmothers raising their orphaned grandchildren.

If you would like to join the Orillia Grandmothers to Grandmothers, please contact Jane Ball at 705-326-4792. It is not necessary that you are a grandmother. Monthly meetings are held at St. Paul’s Church, 62 Peter St. N. in Orillia.
