GREEN HAVEN SHELTER FOR WOMEN

Green Haven Shelter for Women is celebrating Mother’s Day this year by arranging Mother’s Day Breakfast in Bed boxes with the support of local businesses.
Breakfast in Bed boxes will be filled with a variety of gifts and can be purchased in advance in April through the shelter’s website.
In partnership with Starbucks Orillia, these beautiful surprise boxes will be hand delivered throughout the Orillia area on Mother’s Day morning by teams from all of the stores in the area. Starbucks Orillia will be including coffee and other treats for mom in the Breakfast in Bed boxes.
“We are thrilled to sponsor the Breakfast in Bed fundraiser for Green Haven. Starbucks Orillia is always seeking out creative ways to be involved with the community, and bringing joy to mothers while contributing to programs that support women is absolutely in line with what Starbucks stands for,” said Sam Dadra, Starbucks Orillia store manager.
Green Haven Shelter for Women invites local businesses who would like to participate to reach out with the comfort items that we would like to include in the gift boxes. Some examples include gift boxes, wellness books or magazines, candles, self-care products, spring vegetable or flower seeds, candy or chocolate, gift cards, etc. Each box will come with a ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ card designed by Green Haven Shelter for Women with the logos and messages from the participating businesses.
“Mothers are truly powerful women and each year we are excited to find a way to celebrate their strength. We are reaching out to the community to ask them to help us honour the women and mothers in our lives,” said Norma Alford, executive director of Green Haven Shelter for Women.
This fundraiser celebrates all mothers — adoptive mothers, stepmothers, mother figures, grandmothers, the mother of the friend group, pet mothers, mothers at heart, mothers who have experienced loss, and the mothers we lost too soon.
The Breakfast in Bed fundraiser is sponsored by Starbucks Orillia and supports women’s health and safety in Orillia and the surrounding area. All proceeds from this fundraiser go directly toward programs and services offered by Green Haven Shelter for Women.
