Are you ready to howl for a good cause?

The annual Halloween Howl Fun Run/Walk will take place Saturday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Orillia chapter of Special Olympics Ontario and local athletes with intellectual disabilities.

You are encouraged to lace up your running shoes, put on your costume and scare up some good times.

The goal of the event is to promote being healthy, active and having fun. There are prizes for fastest times in various age divisions as well as for best costume.

This year’s event has been moved to the Orillia Waterfront Centre at Centennial Park, which will serve as headquarters and the starting point for the run.

There are several divisions available for both male and female participants who can choose 5-kilometre or 10-kilometre distances.

Cost is $25 for adults, $20 for students and $60 for families.

Register now at the Orillia Parks, Recreation and Culture office at the Orillia City Centre on Andrew Street. You can also register, with cash, on race day.
