Tis the season for hiking.
Members of the Orillia section of the Ganaraska Hiking Trail club visited the Johnson and Arbor tracts of the Simcoe County Forest this week for a very enjoyable hike despite some drizzle.
The wildflowers are coming into bloom, with carpets of trilliums just waiting for a day of sunshine to open up. There was plenty of squirrel corn, trout lilly, Bellwort, and garlic mustard (unfortunately) seen on or near the trails.
The woods are definitely coming alive with songbirds beginning to be heard.
It’s a great time to join the club and come out for a hike. All are welcome.
