Members of the Ganaraska Hiking Club (Orillia) relayed water from Georgian Bay along the in-town Ganaraska Trail from Tudhope Park to James Street. Marion Brophy, a past president of the Orillia Club, is shown here wearing the specially designed tote bag with the water jug. On Saturday Sept. 29, members of the Ganaraska Hiking Club from along its entire length will gather at Lakehead University's Orillia campus for a water ceremony as part of the club’s 50th anniversary weekend event. In the meantime, the next Orillia Club hike is an easy 8-9 km hike in the Torrance Barrens on Sept. 22. For more information, contact Isobel, 705-325-6578. On Sunday, Sept. 30, the club hosts a hike to the Copeland Forest (contact John Sloan 705-715- 6994). Members of the public are welcome to join either of these hikes. Contributed photo
