Hikers revel in glorious fall colours of wildlands (4 photos)

Members from nine area clubs united for Ganaraska Hike, enjoying perfect weather, rugged trails and fall foilage

The fall colours are really beginning to blossom in our region and the QEII Wildlands Provincial Park is in full bloom.

Recently, local hikers participated in hikes in the picturesque park.

The first hike to Ragged Rapids (from Victoria Falls north of Washago) was led by the Orillia Club, and the weather was outstanding.

The following day, hikers enjoyed the first annual Nine Clubs of Ganaraska Hike, hosted this year by the Wilderness Club of the Ganaraska Hiking Club. Participants entered the QEII park at Devil’s Lake, near Minden.

Both hikes are classified as rugged, but the effort was well worth the wilderness experience - and all within driving distance of Orillia.
