Sunday is D-Day for local ice huts.
Local police are reminding anglers that ice huts need to be removed from Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching by Sunday, March 15.
"With the warm weather and rain, the ice on the lake is becoming unsafe," city police wrote on Twitter.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry reminds people that the removal of ice huts does not indicate the end of ice-fishing for the season in that location.
Police urge people to use caution, stressing 'no ice is safe ice.'
