The identity of the 45-year-old Orillia man who was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday will not be released.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at about 12:10 p.m. on Labour Day.

Orillia OPP Const. Martin Hill said it appears the motorcyclist hit a curb while driving on University Avenue near the entrance to Costco. After hitting the curb, he struck a pole.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hill said he could not divulge any more details. He said toxicology reports and the technical collision report from OPP specialists will not likely be complete for some time.

He said no charges would be laid.
