NEWS RELEASE
NORTH SIMCOE MUSKOKA AND DISTRICT LABOUR COUNCIL
*************************
The North Simcoe Muskoka and District Labour Council proudly joins the Ontario Federation of Labour’s Enough is Enough provincewide protest by organizing a demonstration in Orillia on June 3 from 12 to 1:30 p.m.

This campaign aims to raise awareness and take action on critical issues affecting workers’ rights and social justice in our community. Through this initiative, the labour council seeks to unite support and establish a platform for dialogue, education, and collaboration among workers, community organizations, and policymakers.

“As representatives of the working people in north Simcoe and Muskoka, we have a responsibility to stand up for the rights and well-being of all workers in our region,” stated Mike De Rose, president of the North Simcoe and Muskoka District Labour Council.

“The Enough is Enough campaign offers an opportunity for Ontarians to come together, share their experiences, and collectively work towards a fairer and more just society.”

The North Simcoe and Muskoka District Labour Council invites individuals, community organizations, and the public who are weary of the high cost of housing, groceries, and gas, who oppose government plans to develop the Greenbelt without considering environmental impacts, and who are concerned about the defunding and privatization of education and health care to join them at the campaign’s launch event on June 3 from 12 to 1:30.

The event will be held at Jill Dunlop’s office in Orillia, 575 West St. S., starting at noon. Attendees will have the chance to listen to inspiring speakers, participate in meaningful discussions, and unite in reshaping the direction of this government.

“We believe that by amplifying the voices of workers and fostering solidarity among various stakeholders, we can bring about lasting change,” added Mike De Rose. “Together, we can send a powerful message to policymakers and employers that enough is enough. It is time to prioritize the rights and well-being of workers in our community.”

The North Simcoe Muskoka and District Labour Council is dedicated to building a more inclusive, equitable, and just society for all. Through the launch of the Enough is Enough campaign, they aim to mobilize individuals and organizations to advocate for workers’ rights, improve working conditions, and create positive social change.
