The Orillia Museum of Art and History (OMAH) welcomes applications and nominations for its 2024-25 Board of Directors.

Embark on a rewarding journey with us as we extend an invitation to dynamic individuals from the City of Orillia as well as within Simcoe County to step into pivotal roles as board directors at our upcoming Annual General Meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, June 5 at 6 p.m.

Are you ready to leave an indelible mark and shape the trajectory of arts and culture in Orillia?

At OMAH, we are not merely seeking directors; we are in search of impassioned leaders who bring a wealth of diverse talents and experiences to the fore. If you harbour a genuine interest in our mission to cultivate an inclusive environment that engages the community, ignites creativity, and celebrates culture through the exploration of art and history, this is your moment.

Abby Sirisegaram-Cole, who joined our Board of Directors in 2023 said, "My tenure on the OMAH board of directors has proven to be immensely fulfilling. Balancing a full-time professional role with the responsibilities of motherhood to two young children, I have found the commitments of the board to be manageable, allowing me to contribute positively to our community. Moreover, witnessing my children's enthusiastic participation in the OMAH camps has reinforced my dedication to advocating for increased opportunities for them to experience art and culture within our city and museum walls."

We are eager to welcome individuals endowed with financial acumen and a flair for fundraising endeavours. Your proficiency in these pivotal domains will serve as the cornerstone in propelling our initiatives forward and advise on sustainable board practices.

Chair of the current Board of Directors, Stephen Davids, had this to say about his experience: “My tenure on the OMAH board has been a rewarding journey — a blend of challenge, fulfillment, and camaraderie. Through this role, I’ve forged meaningful connections, honed my strategic acumen, and championed progress in the arts and history. I encourage applicants to join us in weaving the vibrant cultural tapestry of the Orillia area and to make their own mark on this exceptional, inclusive and successful board.”
