NEWS RELEASE
MARIPOSA CANOE COLLABORATION
**************************
Three local artists - Patti Agapi, Kathryn Kaiser and Meg Leslie - have been commissioned by the Mariposa Folk Festival to collaboratively paint a canoe 'live' during the festival weekend.

They were excited with the idea when it was proposed to them. It is a different concept for all of them but it is really just a different shaped canvas. The challenge will be how they unite their three distinct styles.

Patti is an abstract painter, Kathryn paints landscapes and people, and Meg paints in a contemporary folk art style. While at the festival, drop by to see how the project unfolds.

The Mariposa Folk Festival runs this weekend, July 5-7 and they will be located in the Community Village, Friday from 4-8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 12-4 p.m.

They have been blogging about the preparation and inspiration all week at: www.mariposacanoecollaboration.weebly.com.
