Soulful jazz vocalist Ellen Doty will be appearing at drkrm Studio and Gallery in Orillia on April 10 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Advance tickets are available at Carousel Collectables and online here.

In 2017, Ellen was named one of the top 35 jazz artists under 35 in Canada by CBC Music alongside BadBadNotGood, Larnell Lewis, Nikki Yanofsky, and more. On March 2, 2018 she released her sophomore album Come Fall, followed by a 17-stop Canadian tour. The new album features solely the sounds of the trio: voice, piano, and drums. It seeks to strip the music down to its bare bones, in a powerful minimalist approach.
Ellen’s music incorporates jazz, folk, and indie influences for a sound that is uniquely hers. A true storyteller whose works are as intimate and as personal as their handwritten lyrics, Ellen's immense talent for songwriting is only complemented by her stunning vocals.
At drkrm Studio and Gallery, Ellen will be joined by Edmonton-born Efa Etoroma (Moonchild) on drums, and pianist Eric Haynes from Montreal (Busty and the Bass).
