Local hikers breeze back onto area trails (3 photos)

Members of the Ganaraska Hiking Club enjoyed a 9.5-kilometre hike to the Simcoe County Forest in Oro-Medonte Township

There is a hint of fall in the air. And that is music to the ears of eager local hikers.

Members of the Ganaraska Hiking Club took to the trails earlier this week for the first joint Barrie-Orillia hike of the season. Organizers say it was a perfect day, with temperatures in the mid-teens and breezy, for the 9.5-kilometre hike to the local Simcoe County Forest in Oro-Medonte.

There is a full schedule of hikes planned for the fall. If you are interested, the club always welcome new members.
