Local hikers enjoy fall on Coopers Falls Trail (5 photos)

The 16-kilometre adventure features many examples of rock art, Muskoka rocks, fall colours and breathtaking vistas

Sunshine and near-perfect fall weather is an ideal combination for hikers.

Members of the Orillia chapter of the Ganaraska Hiking Club took advantage of those factors when they went to the Coopers Falls Trail, a Muskoka trail maintained by Gravenhurst, northeast of Washago.

There were plenty of examples of rock art and plenty of Muskoka rocks to scramble over, and fall colours more in evidence as Thanksgiving approaches. Hikers happily trekked along the well marked route for 16 kilometres in total. Many members commented on how fortunate it is to have this iconic trail so close to home.

More information about the club and its hikes — open to the pubic — is available here.
