NEWS RELEASE
ORILLIA SENIORS CENTRE
***************************
Coronation anticipation will be evident as the Orillia Seniors Centre meets this Thursday, ahead of the historical event on Saturday. Attendees are invited to wear celebratory fashions — fascinators, coronation buttons, badges, medals, etc. — as we share memories of Coronation Day and enjoy music related to the occasion.

Guest speaker, Jette Vandermeiden, has taught courses around the world on the importance of textiles in history, culture, commerce and religion. She will surprise us with information about a component of our daily living that we may take for granted, but that is also an important aspect of special events like coronations.

Morning activities begin with coffee and conversation at 10 a.m. Refreshments, activities, and a catered lunch are all available for $10. The gathering is hosted at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 99 Peter St. N., with an elevator available at the lower Peter Street entrance.
