NEWS RELEASE
SIMCOE COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
*************************
This fall, Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) schools and facilities will continue their support for the Terry Fox Foundation by participating in school run days and other activities.

The SCDSB has raised more than $4 million for the Terry Fox Foundation. In 2020, our students and staff raised $105,799.47, and Banting Memorial High School was one of the top 50 fundraising schools in Ontario.

“I am incredibly proud of the students and staff at Banting, and of all of our school communities, for their commitment to the Terry Fox Run campaign,” says John Dance, Director of Education. “As we experienced the challenges of the pandemic together, we were still able to come together in creative and safe ways to support Terry Fox’s quest to end cancer.”

Terry Fox wanted to set an example that would never be forgotten. Millions of students across Canada have taken part in the Terry Fox School Run every year to raise funds for cancer research, making it one of the largest fundraising events in Canadian history.
