The Glen Newby Scholarship Fund, a collaboration between New Path Foundation and New Path Youth & Family Services, is accepting applications from Simcoe County youth.

This scholarship provides funding support to young adults affected by adversity and challenges and provides financial assistance to help youth achieve their learning goals. It honours the legacy and commitment of former New Path CEO Glen Newby’s almost five decades of work in the child and youth mental health sector.

“This scholarship is our commitment to providing opportunities for youth in our communities with financial support for their post-secondary or apprenticeship studies,” says James Thomson, President and CEO of New Path Foundation. “This is our third year now providing this scholarship and to date $10,000 in scholarships have been awarded to sic local recipients.”

This year’s scholarship applications open on Jan. 28th, 2022 and are available to any young person up to the age of 24 years residing in Simcoe County, entering, or continuing in post-secondary studies and/or apprenticeship programs.

There are three scholarships available, one award of $2,500 and two awards of $1,250 each. More information and the application form are available at: www.newpathfoundation.org/scholarship

“We are so pleased to be able to continue providing financial assistance through this scholarship to very deserving youth in our communities,” says Elizabeth McKeeman, CEO of New Path Youth & Family Services.

“Providing support to young people in our community is vital to helping them succeed and it is our hope that this scholarship fund will help in this major life transition.”
