On Wednesday, May 8, the Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH) will host the Annual Carmichael Art History Lecture.

Join us to hear artist and coin designer Tony Bianco and Robert Browne, son-in-law of Emmanuel Hahn who created the iconic Schooner Dime and Caribou Quarter, give an up close and personal look at coin design in “The Art of Money: Design of Canadian Coinage.”

Renowned Group of Seven Artist Franklin Carmichael was born in Orillia and is buried at St. James – St. Andrews Cemetery.

Carmichael is an inductee in the Orillia Hall of Fame. We are proud of his contribution to Canadian art and his legacy of capturing the beauty of the local landscapes in his painting.

The Carmichael Art History Lecture has become a celebration of Canadian art history and is a major fundraiser for OMAH.

Tickets are $15 each and are on sale on at OMAH. Credit cards are accepted.
