Man killed after two-vehicle Hwy. 12 crash north of Beaverton

OPP say an SUV and pickup collided Sunday night, killing one man and sending two others to hospital with serious injuries

One person has died and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening north of Beaverton.

Police say a southbound SUV was struck by a westbound pickup truck at the intersection of Highway 12 and Thorah Concession 7 at around 7:20 p.m.

The male driver of the SUV was killed in the crash and the female passenger is in critical condition.

The male driver of the pickup truck suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries, police say.

The road has reopened after being closed for several hours for the investigation and to allow a helicopter to land to take at least one patient to an area hospital.

OPP have not released any details about the cause of the crash.
