Mariposa Folk Festival lineup wows fans on Saturday

Alan Doyle headlines; Gordon Lightfoot delivers unscheduled performance

Two down. One to go.

The enthusiasm generated by the Mariposa Folk Festival's opening day Friday spilled into Saturday, as another stellar lineup of musicians entertained audiences in Tudhope Park.

Alan Doyle headlined the main stage Saturday night, performing his own music and hits from his former band, Great Big Sea.

Other popular performances were delivered by Larkin Poe, Bill and Joel Plaskett, Port Cities, and Nick Lowe with Los Straitjackets.

The crowd was also treated to an unscheduled performance by hometown folk hero Gordon Lightfoot.

The festival continues Sunday. See for more details.
