NEWS RELEASE
TOWNSHIP OF RAMARA
*********************************
Effective March 21, 2022, the Township of Ramara will no longer require the public entering most township facilities to wear a mask or face covering in accordance with the provincial measures.

As per the provincial direction, masking requirements will still be required at the Medical Building when accessing healthcare services through the Good Doctors.

"I want to thank the community for their continued patience and support over the past two years," states Mayor Basil Clarke. "We are all happy to see that public health indicators are improving; restrictions are being lifted, and we are slowly returning to business as usual. As restrictions lift, it is important to be considerate and patient to those who choose to continue to wear a mask and those who do not. As everyone adjusts, we will need to respect individual choices."

With masking restrictions lifting, we still encourage residents to continue to monitor for symptoms and stay home if they are sick. Under the provincial regulations, masks and face coverings will continue to be mandatory on public transit and in long-term care, retirement homes and other healthcare settings, shelters, jails, and congregate care and living settings, including homes for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Residents are encouraged to visit the township's website for up-to-date information on services and programs. For up to date health-related information, please visit here, or call the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit directly.
