Chick-fil-A's next restaurant will be located at 3281 Monarch Dr. in Orillia.

Construction on what will be Orillia’s newest chicken franchise, Chick-fil-A, is expected to begin soon in west Orillia.

With 10 restaurants already in Ontario and a location at Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga slated to open later this summer, the food chain will soon nearly double its Canadian footprint with 20 new locations opening across Ontario and Alberta by 2025.

“While we are still early in the process, Chick-fil-A is happy to share that we are actively pursuing our first location in Orillia" on Monarch Drive, said Maggie Grund, who manages new restaurant brand public relations, in a written statement to OrilliaMatters.

Grund says each Chick-fil-A restaurant is locally owned and operated and will create 80 to 120 jobs.

“We hope to have the opportunity to serve new guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality,” she said.

Chick-fil-A has not yet released a time frame for when the restaurant may open, but its exact location will be 3281 Monarch Drive.

Since 2020, Chick-fil-A has donated more than US $1.125 million to local hunger-relief organizations through Second Harvest. Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue organization and reduces the environmental impact of food waste by redistributing surplus edible food from across the supply chain to non-profits throughout the country.

For each new restaurant that opens in Canada, Chick-fil-A will donate US$25,000 to local charitable organizations through Second Harvest.
