Starting Dec. 1, 2021, residents in Ramara will have access to Good Doctors Medical, telemedicine services with onsite nursing support at the Mara Medical Centre. This partnership will provide the community with local access to medical services and support to health and wellness.
"The Township has worked diligently over the years to help bring medical services to the community," reports Mayor Basil Clarke. "This partnership is an innovative approach that will help address the shortage of primary care providers in the community, provide access to quality care, and reduce the need to travel to local hospital emergency departments."
The Good Doctor Ramara Clinic is located at 3242 Ramara Road 47, and it will be open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents will have access to licensed physicians and medical services for non-urgent care, such as treatment for acute medical concerns, and chronic care management.
Other services include the following:
- prescription refills;
- specialist referrals;
- pregnancy, urinalysis and strep testing and other diagnostic testing;
- administering injections;
- ear flushing;
- MTO Driver's medical exams;
- tick bite removal;
- suture and staple removal; and
- telephone visits from home.

"We are confident that this undertaking will help improve the lives of residents and demonstrates how working collaboratively can solve many challenges as it relates to healthcare delivery."
