One person injured in Gravenhurst apartment building blaze

Officials estimate the fire caused about $75,000 in damages; the cause is under investigation but officials say the fire is not considered suspicious

One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries following an apartment fire late Wednesday night.

All Gravenhurst Fire stations responded to the fire at a building on Old Muskoka Road in Gravenhurst last night.

The occupants were "evacuated and accounted for," officials noted on X, formerly Twitter.

Fire crews were able to quickly locate the fire, extinguish the flames and begin ventilation. Once the smoke was cleared from the building, occupants were given the green light to return to their apartments.

Officials from Gravenhurst Fire estimated damages at $75,000. While the investigation as to the cause of the fire is ongoing, it is not considered suspicious.
