Public Health Ontario has reported 256 new COVID-19 cases in its latest report (June 25).
Today's update also includes 293 new recoveries and two deaths.
The deaths reported include one person between 60 and 79 years old, and one person over 79 years old.
There were no new hospitalizations reported in today's update.
The June 25 update provided by the province's public health agency also reported the following data:
- 2,899 active, lab-confirmed cases, down from 2,938 yesterday.
- 275 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in Ontario, down from 284 yesterday.
- There are 284 patients in intensive care units because of COVID-19 (53 of those people no longer test positive for COVID-19) and 202 patients on ventilators (29 of those patients no longer test positive for COVID-19).
- The province reported 26,561 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 1.3 per cent positivity rate.
- There are 11,063 tests still awaiting processing, and the provincial labs have processed 15.8 million tests to date.
- Of the new cases reported today, 39 are from Waterloo, 36 are from Toronto, 38 cases are from Peel, eight are from Simcoe-Muskoka, and six are from York Region.
- Today's cases include 73 individuals aged 19 and under, 95 people between 20 and 39 years old, 56 people between 40 and 59 years old, 26 people between 60 and 79 years old, and five people aged 80 and over.
Vaccines
- There were 246,393 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 administered yesterday, up from 225,188 doses administered on June 23.
- 13,568,209 doses of vaccine have been administered.
- In total, 3,761,221 people have been fully vaccinated.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 543,571 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 531,571 recoveries and 9,101 deaths.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 3,656.9 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average weekly incidence rate is 14.7 cases per 100,000 people, which is down by 30.7 per cent from the prior seven-day period.
Simcoe-Muskoka
Yesterday, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit reported nine new COVID-19 cases,
There are 97 active cases in the region.
Since the start of the pandemic, the local health unit has confirmed 12,240 cases of COVID-19 with 11,472 of those cases recovered and 249 cases ending in death.
There are 11 people from Simcoe County hospitalized with COVID-19 related illness.
The weekly incidence rate in the region is 7.2 cases per 100,000 people from June 15 to June 21, which is down by 39 per cent compared to the week of June 9 to 15.
