NEWS RELEASE
TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE
********************

As we enter into grass fire season, and to eliminate all potential risks associated with grass fires, effective immediately, a complete Open Air Burn Ban is in place for the Township of Oro-Medonte.

Given the COVID-19 virus, and the Township’s efforts to support and promote social distancing to mitigate the spread of the virus, it is important to ensure our community and firefighters avoid unnecessary risk. This preventative measure ensures the health and safety of residents, employees, and the community of Oro-Medonte.

It is important for residents to understand the level of risk accompanied with open air burning with rising temperatures, increased winds, and the amount of available dry combustible vegetation.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as the Township works to ensure the health and safety of the community.
