Following a complete renovation during the winter months, the Ontario SPCA Orillia Animal Centre is inviting the public to an open house event on May 4 to tour the newly updated facility.

Drop by between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 to see the facility, meet animals available for adoption, learn more about community support services offered by the Orillia Animal Centre, and discover ways you can get involved to change the lives of animals.

To better meet the needs of animals in the community, the Orillia Animal Centre underwent renovations in September to its 467 West Street North location. The renovations to the aging building were a step to strengthen and grow the animal welfare programs and community support services provided by the Orillia Animal Centre.

The building re-opened to the public in December with updated cat and dog rooms to improve animal comfort and health, updated isolation and intake rooms to keep animal populations healthy, and new flooring throughout to make it easier to sanitize.

“We are excited to welcome the community to our open house event for an official renovation reveal,” says Carol Beard, Manager of the Ontario SPCA Orillia Animal Centre.

“Our centre helps hundreds of animals find loving homes each year, and we deliver so many essential programs and services to keep pets with their families. This is an opportunity to drop by, say hello and learn more about how we support animals in our community.”
