Orillia Big Band set to swing at St. Paul’s Centre event

Band provides an extensive selection of music for foxtrot, waltz, swing, polka, tango and more for local dancers to enjoy

The Orillia Big Band will transport dancers back to the Big Band Era at their Sept. 30 concert at St. Paul's Centre.

On Saturday, September 30, the Great Hall at St. Paul’s Centre will be transformed to feature a ballroom dance floor. Patrons will be able to dance the night away to the music of the popular Orillia Big Band.

Under the direction of Randy Hoover, the 20-piece band is comprised of a balance of saxophones, trombones, trumpets, rhythm section, featured vocalist and soloists. The OBB has played for many fundraisers in the Orillia area and provides an extensive selection of music for foxtrot, waltz, swing, polka, tango and more.

Dancers will be transported back to the Big Band Era.

The evening will include a light lunch and cash bar. Tickets are $40 each (cash or cheque) and are available at St. Paul’s Centre, 62 Peter St. N., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in September.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and dancing will take place from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
