Beginning in January 2020, all City of Orillia council committee and council meetings will start at 6 p.m. in Orillia council chamber, 50 Andrew St. S. Special meetings, public planning meetings and closed-session meeting times may vary.

This time change marks the conclusion of a pilot project, which had council committee meetings starting at 2 p.m. and council meetings starting at 7 p.m.

“Council’s decision to change the start time of both council committee and council meetings to 6 p.m. endeavours to balance the varying and complex schedules of the public, council members and city staff. The City of Orillia is committed to providing transparent and accountable access to its council meetings, whether in person or online. We encourage Orillia residents to take part in their local democratic process and engage with council in the New Year,” said Mayor Steve Clarke.

RogersTV will continue to livestream online and broadcast on cable Channel 10 all regularly scheduled council committee and council meetings.

RogersTV also posts the Orillia city council meetings with closed captioning on the RogersTV YouTube channel under Playlists – Orillia City Council.
