The Orillia Curling Club is celebrating 20 years of curling at the Barnfield Point Recreation Centre.

From modest beginnings on the frozen ice of Lake Couchiching, the Orillia Curling Club, established in 1873, has now occupied a total of seven different facilities in Orillia.

There is a long history of curling in Orillia and we are taking this opportunity to gather and share some of it with the community.

Notwithstanding an 11-year hiatus after 1988, the efforts of a number of community-minded people succeeded in restablishing curling in Orillia in 1999.

The public, in addition to curlers past and present, are invited to attend a reception and peruse displays of past curling memorabilia at the Barnfield Point Recreation Centre, 600 Atherley Rd., on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019 from 2 to 5 p.m. to celebrate the Orillia Curling Club's 20 Years (1999 to 2019) of curling at the Barnfield Point Recreation Centre.
