ORILLIA KIWANIS MUSIC FESTIVAL

While many local music festivals across Canada were cancelled for 2020 and 2021, the Orillia Kiwanis Music Festival (OKMF) organizing committee decided to continue with a virtual format. Participants submitted videos that were seen by adjudicators who then provided valuable feedback and encouragement.
Although this allowed the Festival to continue, the participants lost out on the experience of performing on a stage, before an audience. New COVID protocols have allowed the OKMF to return to the live performance format.
St. Paul’s Centre will provide the venue for the 64th anniversary of the festival. Details of the requirements to participate, volunteer or be in the audience will be updated on the OKMF website closer to the April 11, 2022 start date.
The committee has been hard at work revising the syllabus to make it easier to enter the class that best suits a participant. The OKMF is open to all residents of Orillia and the townships of Oro-Medonte, Severn, Rama, and Ramara as well as the District of Muskoka. Adults, family groups and mixed age groups of all types are encouraged to enter this fun, non-competitive event.
