ORILLIA LAKERS BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION

The Kelsey’s Orillia Lakers Novice Girls took home the bronze medal this weekend at the Barrie Royals Winter Classic Tournament.

The Lakers started the tournament strong, defeating the Barrie Royals Blue 32-13 in pool play. The top scorers in this game were Emma Dongelmans with 16 points, Lily Balaisis with 6 points and Alison Rolston adding another 4.

Next, in pool play, the Orillia Lakers were up against a strong Etobicoke Thunder team and although they lost, the Lakers played hard, earning a spot in the semi-finals.

After a tough loss in the semi-final game against the Collingwood Trailblazers, the Lakers battled back against the Barrie Royals White by a score of 28-13, earning the team a bronze medal. 

The top scorers in this game were Emma Dongelmans with 16 points, Lily Balaisis with 4 points, and Sienna McParland, Camryn Murray, Alison Rolston and Ryan Lazier each adding a basket.
