The Orillia Lions recently provided three Orillia nursing homes — Spencer House, Oak Terrace and Leacock — with coffee and treats from McDonald’s.

This was in recognition of their dedicated and caring work keeping our seniors safe.

Lion Wendy Taylor said the club originally did this in April with funds from a Lions grant.

“Never did we envision that this pandemic would still be impacting us,” she said. “Due to the cancellation of a few local events that we typically sponsor, we decided to reallocate the funds to giving thanks to the nursing home caretakers.

“The money that we raise comes from the community. Therefore, we need to give back to the community,” she added.
