NEWS RELEASE

The Rotary Club of Orillia recently became aware that the Sharing Place Food Centre’s breakfast programs for kids would not be funded past December.

The Rotary Club of Orillia felt that there was a need and they had to come up with a way to raise money to be able to help a very important cause in the community.

These kids depend on the breakfast program to get nutritious food to fuel them through the day. During this COVID-19 it is very difficult to raise money as everyone is going through difficult times.

The Rotary Club of Orillia was able to get a special COVID-19 grant from our Rotary District and donated $800 to the Sharing Place Food Centre for the local school program, also volunteering their time to package and deliver to schools.

On Friday Nov. 20, Michel Rousseau, Foundation Chair, delivered the cheque to The Sharing Place's Chris Peacock (executive director) and Nancy Hannah (Supervisor Community programs).
