Last week, OrilliaMatters asked you, our loyal readers, to join us in supporting the Sharing Place Food Centre this festive season — and your response was nothing short of extraordinary.

During the holidays, an increased number of people are reliant on our local food bank. This increased need means that the Sharing Place Food Centre needs our support more than ever.

OrilliaMatters brought our whole community together to help provide that support.

We partnered with Jason's No Frills to offer gift cards for purchase through an online pop-up store.

OrilliaMatters and generous local businesses pledged to match every purchase made through the online store, meaning that every purchase was matched eight times!

Together, we raised an incredible $4,100 for the Sharing Place Food Centre and delivered 15 grocery gift cards, helping to support those who need it most over the holiday season. Thank you!

Special thanks to Jason's No Frills for donating the gift cards for this initiative, and to the following businesses who have joined us in matching each donation: HWY 11 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Rockwater Wealth Management, O’Coin Walker & Associates - BMO Nesbitt Burns, Orser Technical Services, Parklane Landscapes, Mariposa Dental and Garage Supply Contracting Inc.

If you didn't get a chance to participate in this program, we encourage you to send your donation directly to the local food bank. You can give online or call (705-327-4273) to arrange a donation, or click here for more information on how to give back.
