The Oro-Medonte Chamber of Commerce presented The Sharing Place Food Centre with a cheque this week, with funds coming from the chamber’s recent Oro-Medonte Experience Adventure fundraiser.

Experience Adventure featured 22 different Oro-Medonte based adventures, each donated by an Oro-Medonte business, with proceeds supporting the chamber and The Sharing Place in Orillia.

Chris Peacock, Executive Director of The Sharing Place, thanked the chamber for the donation, saying “It is great to be connected with the chamber. The exposure that it provides and the knowledge that our local business community is getting involved with our organization is wonderful. I look forward to building this relationship and seeing where we can take it.”

The principal organizer for the event was Sylvia Stark, an Oro-Medonte Chamber board member and owner of Making a difference PR and Marketing.

Stark expressed gratitude to all of the businesses that donated adventures.

“Oro-Medonte business came together to offer experiences to enjoy within the township from alpaca walks, wine tours, flights over the township, eco-retreat glamping and ice fishing," said Star. "The contest brought awareness to the kind-hearted businesses within Oro-Medonte who stepped up to bring some holiday spirit to everyone. We hope people will continue to support and shop local and enjoy the many awesome adventures in all seasons.”
