CFUW’S Homes for Scholarships Tour is delighted to announce a new fundraising feature this year.
Celebrated local artist Charles Pachter has donated a colourful print, ‘I said good morning to the rooster,’ to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The print is No. 16 in a limited edition of 50. The online auction will begin Thursday, May 25, and the last bid will be accepted at noon on Saturday, May 27. The online auction can be accessed at cfuwhomestour.ca.
Another highly anticipated added feature of this year’s tour is a rooftop picnic. This light lunch, with a gluten-free option, is provided by Krew Catering Co. The food will be delicious, and the view spectacular. The rooftop picnic will be served on the rooftop terrace of Matchedash Lofts in downtown Orillia with views of the city and Lake Couchiching. Tickets for the rooftop picnic are available at cfuwhomestour.ca. Rooftop picnic ticket sales close on May 16.
Tickets for CFUW Orillia’s Homes for Scholarships Tour on Sunday, June 4 are now sold out. Ticket holders are looking forward to touring five outstanding Orillia and area homes in a variety of styles and settings. As well as the tour, all ticket holders are automatically entered in a draw for one of 21 wonderful door prizes.
Funds raised from the Homes for Scholarships Tour, the online Charles Pachter art auction, and the rooftop picnic all go to support young women from the Orillia area pursuing post-secondary education. Since 1974, CFUW Orillia has awarded $371,275 in scholarships to 725 young women. In 2022, the homes tour raised a record $32,000.
