Pair of COVID-19 outbreaks at OSMH declared over: officials

Officials say 16 patients and three staff tested positive during the outbreaks on separate patient-care units at the Orillia hospital

Two COVID-19 outbreaks on separate patient care units at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) have each been declared over. 

The Integrated Medicine & Rehab Service Unit 1, (IMRS-1) was brought out of outbreak status yesterday morning (Dec. 4, 2022). It was originally declared on Nov. 21, 2022 and resulted in 11 patients and one staff testing positive for COVID-19.

The Mental Health Services In-Patient Unit (C6) went into outbreak on Nov. 19, 2022, resulting in five patients and two staff testing positive. The outbreak on C6 was declared over on Nov. 30, 2022. 

Both units are now open to admissions and visitors as per the current Visitor Policy.
