There is no shortage of activities coming up at the Ramara Public Library.

Here are some of the events taking place over the coming months.

Essential Oils, Make and Take

Wednesdays, Sept. 18, Oct. 2, Nov. 6 and Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Cost: $5 each

Learn more about oils and make some roller bottle blends! Five different blends will be available: Under the Weather, Digestive Help, Sleep and Calm, Seasonal Zen and Happy Head. Please note: $10 will hold your seat and will be credited back to you with two blends you choose that evening. Register early as spaces are limited.

Cathedral Windows Quilt Class

Saturdays, Sept. 21, Oct. 5 and Oct. 19 at 10:30 a.m.

Cost: $20

Learn the technique to make a cathedral windows quilt that can be used for a pillow cover, a wall hanging or a bed quilt. Each three-hour class is good for beginners. No machine needed. Supplies included.

A Journey of Miracles and Hope, with Deanna Peacock and Margot Crowder Davidson

Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m.

Deanna and Margot (Deanna’s support through her double lung transplant) will take you on a very personal journey and unveil their story. They will share the challenges and gifts of her journey, including their passion about the importance of organ donations.

“Read Whatever You Want” Book Club

Wednesdays beginning Septe. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at Wild Wing in Brechin 

Do you like to read? Do you like to discuss what you are reading or have read with others? Then this is the book club for you! You will have the opportunity to read whatever you want, whenever you want and share with others.

Power of the Pen, with Elaine Charal

Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m.

Discover what the strokes of handwriting mean. Elaine will be available to do individual five-minute handwriting analysis before her presentation, and will email profiles to those who don’t have a chance to meet with her.

Friendship Force Lake Simcoe

Thursday, Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m.

Come hear all about it! Travel the world, make friends, be hosted in their homes, learn about their culture and food, and explore their favourite sites. Be a host to new friends from around the world.

Paws to Read

Second Thursday (from 6 to 7 p.m.) and last Saturday (from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.) of the month.

All ages (including teens and adults). Book a 30-minute time slot with Jack the Yorkshire terrier from the St. John’s Ambulance Therapy Dogs to read and interact in a comfortable, non-judgmental setting. This is the first time we are bringing this program to Brechin and hope it is a success!

Books with Buster

Last Saturday of the month. All ages (teens and adults welcome) at 11 and 11:30 a.m.

Book a 30-minute time slot with Buster the pug from the St. John’s Ambulance Therapy Dogs to read and interact in a comfortable, non-judgmental setting. Anyone is encouraged to participate in this program.
