After breaking records last year, Orillia’s favourite Homes Tour returns this year on Sunday, June 4, from noon to 5 p.m.

CFUW Orillia’s Homes for Scholarships event features an exclusive tour of five local homes, an optional Rooftop Picnic, and a chance to win one of 21 fabulous door prizes.

This popular event, which sells out every year, supports scholarships for young women pursuing post-secondary education. Since 1974, CFUW Orillia has awarded $371,275 in scholarships to over 725 young women.

In 2022, CFUW Orillia awarded $25,000 in scholarships (the proceeds from the 2021 tour) to 25 young women. In 2022, Homes Tour raised a record $32,000, the proceeds of which will be awarded to this year’s graduates.

Homes for Scholarship tickets go on sale to the public online on April 24 at 7 a.m. Simply click on the TICKETS button on the Homes for Scholarships website.

A special draw will honour Mother’s Day. Everyone who spends a minimum of $30 or makes a minimum donation of $30 on check-out by noon on May 11 will be entered into the Mother’s Day draw. The prize is a Dragonfly Room Salon Spa gift certificate valued at $450. The certificate includes a head massage, wash, cut and style, assorted Aveda products, and a Phillip Lim cosmetic pouch.

The $30 tickets to the event are available online at cfuwhomestour.ca. In addition to the chance to win Mother’s Day prizes, all ticket holders are automatically entered into a tour-day draw for 21 incredible door prizes. To enhance their experience, attendees can also purchase a “Rooftop Picnic” package, with regular and gluten-free options, created especially for the tour by Krew Katering Co.

“We are thrilled to have the Homes for Scholarships tour again this year. CFUW has a strong commitment to promoting education for young women, and this event is our major fundraiser to continue our commitment to those who so greatly benefit from our scholarship program,” said Karen Baldock, president of CFUW Orillia.

Attendees at this year’s tour can rest assured that protocols will be in place to ensure that they enjoy a safe and comfortable tour. Details are available on the Homes for Scholarships website.
