NEWS RELEASE
TOWNSHIP OF RAMARA
*************************
The Township of Ramara and Muskoka Wifi are pleased to announce that residents in the northern end of Ramara have access to faster rural internet.

"Enhancing internet services in the Township of Ramara has been a strategic goal of Council since being elected in 2018," reports Mayor Basil Clarke. "Our partnership with Muskoka Wifi will provide enhanced services in the northern end of the township that will provide equitable access to information, resources, educational tools and services."

In 2021, the Township of Ramara requested proposals from ISPproviders to serve six service gaps in Ramara. Muskoka Wifi, a local wireless high-speed provider, provided a proposal to help service around 200 homes in the northern end of Ramara with the installation of two 120' towers. The two towers will provide service up to 50 Megabits per second (Mbps) with unlimited data to 200 rural households and small businesses.

"We are proud to have been chosen to serve our neighbours and friends at Ramara Township,"said William Holmes, Founder and President of Muskoka Wifi. "Our mission is to serve those of us that have had a hard time finding quality, consistent high-speed internet. We?d like to thank the Township of Ramara for significantly investing in the community with this partnership and look forward to welcoming the residents of Ramara to Muskoka Wifi."

Residents can call 705-795-9434, email [email protected] or visit Muskoka Wifi's website www.muskokawifi.ca to learn more about service availability, packages and prices

To help residents with their questions regarding prices, packages and availability in their area, Muskoka Wifi will have a representative on-site at the Township Administration Building on April 22, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and at the Ramara Centre on April 23, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Township of Ramara continues to focus on expanding high-speed internet services to households within Ramara. In 2022 through the SWIFT program, UBF program and Ramara's enhancement projects, over 2,500 additional homes will have access to internet services that will allow them to work, learn and connect at home.
