Tim Hortons’ restaurant owners and millions of generous Canadians across the country combined broke a new Smile Cookie record by raising $10.56 million for local charities across the country.

This year in Brechin, local Tim Hortons’ restaurant owners Ron and Carolyn Harris and guests helped raise $3,981 to support Ramara Public Library. This is the second year that Tim Hortons has supported the Library, which is an essential community hub that provides valuable programs and services to the community of Ramara.

The Brechin Tim Hortons team raised $3,456 last year as well, reaching total sales (over two years) of $7,437! The funds from this year’s campaign will be used to support child and youth literacy programs.

“We are elated by the amount of cookies that were sold during the Smile Cookie campaign," says the library's Chief Executive Officer, Janet Banfield.

"I would sincerely wish to thank Ron and Carolyn Harris for their generosity and to the Brechin store team for another successful fundraiser again this year. In addition, I would also like to thank our volunteers who helped to decorate cookies and to the community for their continued support of the Library. Together we CAN make a difference," said Banfield.

“We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of Canadians for our annual Smile Cookie campaign,” says Tim Hortons Chief Marketing Officer Hope Bagozzi.

Tim Hortons restaurant owners across Canada will be presenting their local charity partners with Smile Cookie cheques throughout the next month.
