Reminder of tomorrow's road closures and transit modification

Residents and visitors are asked to plan ahead if they plan on attending the Opening Ceremony

The City of Orillia would like to provide a friendly reminder that there will be road closures and a transit modification in order to facilitate the Opening Ceremony for the Orillia 2018 Ontario Winter Games.

In order to ensure the Opening Ceremony can be executed in a safe manner, the following roads will be closed from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 1, 2018:

  • Bay Street closed from Borland Street East to Jarvis Street
  • Jarvis Street closed from Bay Street to Canice Street
  • Canice Street closed from Jarvis Street to the Terry Fox Circle, access to Canice Street from Jarvis Street
  • Brant Street at Canice Street
  • Centennial Drive closed from Tecumseth Street to Lakeview Crescent (Orillia Legion)

Due to the road closures, there will be a temporary detour to a portion of transit service to the Laclie Transit Route on Mar. 1, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. (see Key map).

Residents and visitors are asked to plan ahead if they plan on attending the Opening Ceremony taking place at 6:30 p.m. at Couchiching Beach/Centennial Parks. Parking is available in the downtown lots and streets.
