The Rotary Club of Orillia and Lions Club of Orillia are proud to once again team up to present the 2019 FunFest.

The two local clubs are once again joining forces to host the popular annual event from Friday, Aug. 2 to Monday Aug. 5 at Couchiching Beach Park.

What started in 1945 as a Sports Day organized by the Rotary Club, then a carnival organized by the Lions Club, merged to create the current FunFest.

There is a midway, operated by Homeniuk Games, featuring rides and games for all ages. There will also be vendors and a beer garden on both Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Music will be provided by local favourites Even Steven on Saturday night and by Charlotte and the Dirty Cowboys on Sunday night.

The Orillia Youth Centre will host an open mic event on Friday at the Aqua Theatre at 7 p.m.

There is no cost to enter the park during this weekend event.

Tickets for the rides and games will need to be purchased.

Proceeds from those tickets and beer tent sales will be split by the Rotary and Lions clubs to continue their community projects and outreach efforts.
