ENVIRONMENT CANADA
*************************
Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Significant snowfall expected tonight.

Hazards:
Reduced visibility due to heavy snow.
Total snowfall accumulations near 15 cm.
Snowfall rates up to 2 cm/h possible.

Timing:
This evening through Saturday morning.

Discussion:
A Texas low is expected to bring heavy snow to a large swath of southern Ontario. Snow will begin this evening and quickly become heavy at times. Snow will last through Saturday morning before tapering to light flurries Saturday afternoon.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
