A popular soup-making fundraiser is set to simmer in November at Horseshoe Resort in Oro-Medonte.
The ninth annual Soup Off, which raises money for WE Unite, will take place Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m.
Participating teams will be given a recipe, necessary supplies, and some extra ingredients to create their soups, which will be judged by a local chef. The soup makers will vie for the ‘best soup’ title, and a prize will be given to the team that has the most creative aprons.
All of the soup made during the event will be donated to Redwood Park Communities.
A dance party with a live DJ will follow the competition.
“We are absolutely thrilled to bring the Soup Off back this year to our community,” Teena Sauve, founder of WE Unite, said in a news release.
“It’s not just about the competition; it’s about coming together as a community and making a positive impact. We want to create a space where people can have fun, enjoy some friendly competition and, most importantly, contribute to the well-being of those in need," said Sauve.
