Last night, invited guests were given a preview of first annual Downtown Orillia Christmas Market which opens at noon today and runs all weekend

Thursday night, invited guests were given an early Christmas gift: a chance to glimpse the art, music and vibe of the First Annual Downtown Orillia Christmas Market.

The event begins at noon today at St. James' Anglican Church and participating downtown shops and runs all weekend.

There is a Juried Artisan Market as well as free music performances, a Christmas Pantry, and a chance to visit Santa.

Market Hours are: Today from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to an opportunity to shop for great one-of-a-kind gifts, there will be free musical performances by The Drifters, Orillia’s Little Big Band, Orillia Silver Band, St James’ Musical Potpourri, The Quire, The Coopers, and others.
