Three local organizations get help in 'challenging' holiday season

The Connor, Clark and Lunn Financial Group has provided a special donation of $8,000 to Community Foundation to directly assist local charities

Kevin Gangloff, director of the Orillia Youth Centre, was happy to accept a cheque for $2,500 from the Connor Clark and Lunn Foundation through a special donation to the Community Foundation of Orillia and Area.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF ORILLIA AND AREA

So far in 2021, the Community Foundation of Orillia and Area has granted $330,000 to local charities. These grants come from the investment returns on the CFOA’s endowment funds.

In addition, for the eighth year, the firm which manages these funds, The Connor, Clark and Lunn Financial Group, has provided a special donation to the CFOA from the Connor Clark and Lunn Foundation. The $8,000 donation will directly assist local charities in particular need of funds during this challenging holiday season.

As a result, the following charities have received a CFOA grant:

  • The Sharing Place Food Centre -$3,000
  • The Salvation Army Orillia- $2,500
  • Orillia Youth Centre- $2,500

The CFOA appreciates CC&L’s generosity, and the long-term fruitful partnership between the two organizations.
