On Tuesday July 18, 2023 at 6 p.m. the Simcoe North Provincial Liberal Association (SNPLA) will host Dr. Adil Shamji, a distinguished physician and MPP for Don Valley East, at Orillia’s Museum of Art and History (OMAH). During his address at OMAH, Dr. Shamji will discuss his vision for the province, focusing on critical issues such as healthcare, education, and economic growth. Attendees can expect a thought-provoking and engaging speech from a passionate advocate for positive change in Ontario.

On Thursday July 20, 2023 at 11 a.m., former Ontario Attorney General and MP for Ottawa Centre, Yasir Naqvi, will be visiting the riding at the home of former Simcoe North Liberal Candidate, Fred Larsen.  MP Naqvi has held the positions of Ontario Minister of Labour, Minister of Community Safety and Government House Leader.  MP Naqvi has set his focus on the issues that matter most to Ontario voters – healthcare, education and affordability.

On Sunday July 23, 2023 at 2 p.m., MPP Ted Hsu (Kingston and the Islands) will be hosted at Orillia’s St. Paul’s Centre for a meet and greet.  Hsu is a distinguished scientist and has been a long time member of SWITCH, a non-profit organization focused on job creation and the green economy, both of which are core tenets of MPP Hsu’s platform.

As the Ontario Liberal Party prepares for a new era of leadership, the Orillia community will play a crucial role in shaping the party's direction. These events will feature candidates who have thrown their hats in the ring, each with unique perspectives, experiences, and plans to propel Ontario forward.

The candidates will share their visions for the province, addressing key issues such as healthcare, education, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. Their meetings here will offer insights into their policy priorities and their strategies for leading the Ontario Liberal Party back into government in Ontario.

This gathering of leadership hopefuls reflects the Ontario Liberal Party's commitment to fostering open dialogue, engaging citizens, and hearing diverse voices from across Ontario. It provides an opportunity for community members in Orillia and surrounding areas to actively participate in the democratic process by learning more about the candidates' platforms and engaging in meaningful discussions.
