Three shows, one day, too much fun for Delta Stone and the Wardogs

Delta Stone and The Wardogs hitting three Ontario towns in one day, including Barrie, Orillia and Owen Sound

Delta Stone and The Wardogs will be on a one-day tour of three Ontario towns and festivals on Saturday and hope to see as many people join them on each one as possible.

The seven-piece rock band will start their day in Orillia at the Into The Green and Blues Festival before heading to Barrie’s Waterfront Festival and finishing up in Owen Sound at the H2O Lounge.

Lead singer/lead guitarist Ian Stone said the venture came together after getting the Barrie show.

“Why not, right?” said Stone. “We got the Barrie gig first and when the other two came in we figured we’d make a day of it and hit the road. I think its going to be a lot of fun and we hope everyone that attends the shows not only has a great time, but also blasts on social media they’re having a great time.”

The London, Ont.-based band is touring this summer to promote their latest single Too Much For You while also opening for big bands like Starship and April Wine.

“It's amazing that we’re getting to open for those bands, they’re so great,” said Stone. “We started only a few years ago playing together and I think our grind and our hard work is what is making us succeed. We have fun on stage and that’s what matters.”

Stone says getting to each show shouldn’t be a problem as there is significant time between each sets. Orillia is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Barrie is 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the Owen Sound set is a late evening show.

“Lots of time to tear down and set up, we may even stop in at the cottage in between a gig,” Stone told BarrieToday. “I assume we’ll be pretty tired at the end of the day, but it’s rock 'n' roll, it should be energetic and on the go.”
